You can now check out your neighborhood, your office, your commute, or your kids baseball games to see if cell service has improved on AT&T. Wireless carriers are working to keep up with the always increasing demand; smart phones have increased wireless demand by 8000% in the last four years. AT&T has spent over $1.75 billion in network improvements in Southern California over the past two years- that investment’s reflected in this site, it shows a ton of upgrades!
The functionality of the site is nice. Select a city from the drop down menu or the area map and you’re shown the hyperlocal upgrade numbers for the region. Improvements shown include both capacity upgrades (these reduce dropped calls and boost service quality at busy times) and connection upgrades (also help reduce dropped calls and enable 4G data speeds). Microsites have been created for cities all across the US: LA, Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, NY, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Washington, DC., St. Louis, Houston, Indianapolis and quite a few others. Here’s the link… have at it. AT&T’s wireless network enhancements.
